Erika was born in Brazil and raised in Ecuador, where she established herself as a recognised audiovisual producer in her early 30s, gaining extensive international experience across television, commercials, and film.
Her first major role in TV was with the international company Cellcast, where she directed and produced the Ecuadorian television show Insomnia. For her excellent work, she was transferred to Brazil in 2006–2007. Since then, Erika has produced hundreds of commercials and over ten short films, including Soñar (Dreaming) (2011), which was screened as an Official Selection at Cannes.
Her film credits include Zuquillo Express (2009), La Llamada (On the Line) (2013), Flores Negras (Dark Flowers) (2015), and the international UK–Canada–Mexico co-production Island of the Dolls.
In recent years, Erika has expanded into directing, bringing her creativity to music videos in Argentina for the Ecuadorian band Equilivre, and directing her first short film Pill or Die in Los Angeles, which she hopes will achieve festival success. She also worked as Assistant Director on the Latin American/Canadian feature El Suspiro del Silencio, which went on to be successfully distributed.
